May 6-9, 2009

This looks to be an amazing conference! It's our fourth annual and the first three were beyond my wildest imagination. The lineup this year is even more astounding, so if you haven't signed up already, better do it soon. We are growing!
The theme this year is "How Excellent." A fresh look at creating excellence with...

Michael Dudash presenting Painting with the Costumed Model.

The stellar professional art career of C. Michael Dudash starts about the time the earth cooled. It has been filled with a great many significant accomplishments and awards. As an illustrator his talents have been sought out by major advertisers, publishers, the movie industry, and major institutions such as The United Nations and the US Postal Service.

His unique approach to painting has always been that of a classic oil painter. In 2003 Michael was awarded Best Portrait of Show award at the Oil painters of America national show in Kirkland, WA. His writing, teachings, and extensive lecture schedule have distinguished Michael as one of the most accomplished artists of this generation, as well as one of the leading painters of heartfelt Christian art working in the world today. Michael will be teaching and demonstrating techniques for painting the costumed model.

Mick McGinty.

Presenting
Painting the Portrait in oils

The artistic abilities and gifts of Mick McGinty can never be overstated. He graduated from the Art Center college of Design with Great Distinction in 1979 and landed a position at the famed Willardson/White Studio.

As a principal player in the airbrush movement of the early 1980’s he distinguished himself by producing advertising and movie campaigns for the bigest clients in America and taking that art6 form to new levels. Mick made a transition from airbrush to digital, and then back to his origins as an oil painter.

Mick’s ability to utilize all of his skills and experience from his years of painting Hollywood movie one sheets and other portrait commissions have placed him in high demand.

Mick was a finalist for the prestigious Cleo award and as an Air Force artist was honored to be one of ten artists assigned to sketch veterans at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC. Mick will be instructing a workshop in portrait technique.

Resident artist, Chris Hopkins

Chris’s talents have long been sought to commemorate, portray, advertise or immortalize the people and events of our age. His murals and works are in collections at the Library of Congress, The White House, NFL properties, Hollywood, and in museums across the country.

Chris’s passion is to help upcoming Christian artists use and develop their gifts to their maximum potential and to God’s glory. Christ will be teaching and demonstrating in a plein aire setting and also offering private critiques. This year Chris is bringing along some great friends!
